An Exceptional Wedding Reception is for the couple who truly values the quality of their entertainment. We have all been to receptions that were less than enjoyable.  Often this is attributed to the Entertainment/DJ.  Have you spoken to other DJs or companies and had them tell you about the ‘special’, ‘unique’, or ‘proprietary’ things that they will do to make your day different?  In not so many words, have they let you know that if you don’t run your event their way or hire a company that does what they do your night will be less than you know it can be?

Well then, let us start by asking you a question: 

If you had to choose 5 words to describe your wedding day, what would they be?

Would you choose ‘Elegant’?  How about ‘Fun’ and ‘Relaxed’?  Do you want your day to be ‘Memorable’ or 'Romantic'?  If one or more of those words is on YOUR list then you may want to consider that those 4 words are not unusual to hear when describing a wedding reception BUT words like ‘entertainment’ and ‘DJ’ are.

 Based on our experience, we can tell you that within 6 to 12 months, it is likely that your guests will not remember the colors you chose for the wedding.  Nor will they remember what type of entrée they ate during the meal or where the name of the reception location.  They WILL remember whether or not they enjoyed themselves.  And while most brides and grooms WANT the guests to have fun, they DO NOT want the DJ/Entertainment to be one of the primary memories their guests have. 

With that said, let’s talk a bit about how you can have amazing entertainment without the DJ being the center of the guests’ attention.  It is actually quite simple.  It starts and ends with you – the bride and groom.  It is YOUR day and EVERYTHING should reflect that from start to finish.  As a bride and groom you should have control over your reception.  You need to be able to select more than just your first dance song and a few other details.  Your wants and needs should be vital in making decisions about things like the music played during cocktails and meal service.  Your DJ/MC should be able to offer you suggestions on how to make ‘traditional’ events like your bouquet or garter toss memorable and original while still keeping it tasteful and in line with your personality and style so that your wedding stands apart from the other weddings your guests may attend.
